Leaping Pierre

Once upon a time there lived in France,
A man who always loved to dance.
He'd leap and jump into the air,
Everyone knew him as leaping Pierre.

Singing to himself he danced away,
For hours and hours every day.
He never seemed to tire at all,
As he spent his life having a ball.

He danced from morning until the night,
Bouncing up to a great height.
All the people would stand and stare,
At the antics of leaping Pierre.

He put on some really great shows,
Balancing himself on his tip-toes.
Then spin himself around so fast,
Before coming to a halt at last.

Women loved him wherever he went,
On the man their money they spent.
They gave him it all, — they didn't care,
All of them wanted to mother Pierre.

Once upon a time; — years ago in France,
There lived a man who loved to dance.
He would throw himself into the air,
Everyone knew him as leaping Pierre.
