Ode to Doris Day

Buy me a station wagon, teach me how to cook,
It’s goodbye to Wigan Pier, not a second look,
Norman Rockwell paintings, hung above the fire,
Checked shirts and dungarees, bicycles for hire,
Set me up with Doris Day, ask my love to sing,
Plan our wedding for early May, I’m saving for a ring.
