About The Poem

I wrote this poem a few years ago and thus the reference to Tony, the bat-eared buffoon who was England's Sub-prime Minister for more years than most of us can bear to remember. The irony is that whereas the Blair Labour government set out to dismantle the library system book by book, the succeeding Conservative government seems hell bent on destroying it in one fell swoop.
